Barcelona - My Favorite Places to Visit

Barcelona is one of my favorite city for travel destination in Spain. This was my second visit in the month of October 2011.

We have 3 weeks vacation in Costa Dorada, L' Ampolla. The first week we spent our time in the beaches, sun bathing, swimming with 22 to 24 degrees seawater and in the swimmingpool.

The second week, we went two days and one night in Valencia, the third week with two days and overnight stay in Barcelona.

A city trip is ideal in the months of September and October when it is not too warm compared in Summer. In October we did had a warm sunny weather with a temperature of 30 to 33 degrees. Other advantage is not too many tourist at this low period and the hotels or appartments are cheaper than in peak Summer season. We rented a four star appartment near Gaudi's Park Güell which i would recommend when travelling with groups, 4 persons or more than staying in hotel which is more expensive.

There are lots of beautiful interesting places to visit in Barcelona of which i did a hub about Gaudi's work and the Famous Magic Fountain of Montjuic.

Other tourist places to see are the Museums, Art Galleries, Flamenco Shows.

Famous Attractions are:

Las Ramblas - famous street of Barcelona

La Boqueria Market - crowded with tourist where one could taste different fresh fruit juice, buy all kinds of meat, cheese, variety of fishes, Spanish products.

L' Aquarium de Barcelona - a great place for children where kids and adults have the opportunity to feed the Manta Fisch and admire the ocean life, the sea water world just located in the Port of Barcelona.

Poble Espanyol de Montjuic or the Spanish Village - this is a small Spanish Village where different style and architecture of houses from different places in Spain are replicated. Several gifts and souvenir shops can be found from handmade woodcrafts, spanish products and different specialities of cheese, meat, marmalade, typical Spanish restaurants. Famous is the Flamenco Show at tablao de Carmen.

The Gothic Quartier - beautiful historical architecture.

Ride with Transbordador Aeri del Port or "Port Cable Car".for an areal view which begins at the top of the cable tower accomodating 20 people.

The Teleferico de Montjuic cable car to view the Castle and beautiful panoramic view of Barcelona.

The famous four golden sandy beaches 4,2 km long in Barcelona can be reach with a Metro and train.
