Marrakesh Fantasia

I hope you have read the first part of my Morocco Tour from the first day to the 6th day.

This is a continuation of my group tour.

7th Day, Saturday

Marrakech known as " Pearl of The South".

Lunch in a Berber tent and participate in a famous "Fantasia" (equestrian Games). The afternoon is at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

About Fantasia Culture

Fantasia a traditional equestrian performed by horse riders during cultural festivals in Morocco. It is a tradition to end up a berber wedding celebration in Maghreb.

How the game is presented:

A group of horse riders with traditional custume form a straight path at the same speed forming a line. About 200 meters, all the horse riders fire into the sky with their old gunpowder guns. They have to fire together and have to synchronize with each other. If one fires earlier or later the shot can heard heard which distructs the performance.

The horse is a fantasia barb horse, and the game is also called as game of gunpowder.

The game is inspired from the historical war attacks of Berber and desert knights, and is now a cultural a form of martial art which is traditonally performed in each region of Morocco nationwide with a group of thousands of horse riders known as serba. The game is performed during cultural and religious festivals ( moussem 'season' in Arabic).

Fantasia is a symbol of a strong relationship between the man and the horse, an attachment to tradition.

The one we saw is a main tourist attraction show organized with a lunch in a Berber tent.

Agadir beaches are called the "winter sun" destination for Northern Europeans.

Location: on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean near the foot of the Atlas Mountains is north of the point where the Souss River flows into the ocean

Agadir is known as the first sardine port in the world, a fishing and commercial port. Some export products are cobalt, manganese, zinc and citrus. It has a long sandy beach known as seaside resort. Agadir is also famous for its seafood and agriculture.

Agadir has large buildings, modern hotels, wide roads with European-style cafès and is not a typical city of traditional Morocco.
